The horse inside - Annual second year project for the Hunt Museum
This project was inspired by the two horses displayed outside the Hunt Museum. My understanding of this art work was that the Hunt Museum and artists involved were using the horses as vessels to bear and show the contents of art works, artifacts, motifs and valuable objects inside the museum as an invitation to the public.
The concept of my work is to reverse the ideas of the horses outside by using the horse as a vessel, instead of showing what inside the institution, to bring the common culture into the museum. My intention is to create contrasts between high culture and low culture, classical arts and pop arts. The aim is to influence viewers' awareness of the traditional values of art and the culture and values of contemporary society.
